Workforce Accommodation

PORTABLE WORKFORCE ACCOMMODATION BUILDINGS

The buildings a crew lives in for months at a time: single rooms, a real kitchen, somewhere to sit that is not a bunk, and walls quiet enough to sleep through a shift change.

Accommodation Sized For A Rotation, Not A Week

Remote workforce housing is what a crew comes back to at the end of every shift for weeks on end, and it is judged on different terms from a building that houses people for a fortnight. Single-occupancy rooms where the roster runs long, semi-private where budgets run tight, in insulated modular units that hold temperature in extreme climates. Housekeeping and laundry, a commercial kitchen with dry, refrigerated and frozen storage, communal dining, and lockers and personal storage that make a room somewhere to live in.

Why Workforce Housing Decides Whether A Rotation Gets Staffed

On long rotations the accommodation belongs in the same conversation as pay and roster. Interior walls are insulated for sound between sleeping units, because crews working opposite shifts share a building and one of them is always trying to sleep. A fitness room and TV lounge, an outdoor social area where space allows, and internet with cell booster systems. A Prince George-area forestry operation came to TA Structures because crews were leaving over the accommodation, and the cost of that turnover had passed the cost of better buildings.
