Modular Structures for Education

Portable Classrooms And Learning Spaces

Portable classrooms and learning spaces built for growing schools, delivered while foundation and site work run in parallel with the off-site build. A classroom ordered in spring can be teaching students in September, which is a timeline conventional construction cannot reach. Buildings are engineered and inspected to meet provincial and national code requirements, covering structural, fire, electrical and accessibility standards, so a modular classroom is held to the same bar as the school around it rather than to portable expectations.

Modular School Design Options And Finishes

Layouts are tailored to educational needs including classrooms, labs and administrative areas, with a wide range of interior and exterior finishes. Finishes are selected to match existing school buildings rather than announce themselves as portables, and interior walls are insulated for sound dampening between rooms. Restrooms with sinks and toilets, storage, and administrative space with in-house millwork can all be built into the same complex, in configurations from two boxes through to six.

Modular Classrooms That Scale With Enrolment

Modules are straightforward to add as student populations grow, or to relocate when catchment boundaries shift. Recent BC work includes a four-box classroom complex at King’s Christian School in Salmon Arm, a classroom for Heritage Christian School in Kelowna, and a four-box complex delivered to a Kamloops district ahead of a September enrolment surge. In-house cabinetry and millwork means built-in storage and administrative fit-out are made in the same plant as the building rather than ordered in.
