INDIGENOUS RELATIONS
At TA Structures, we recognize the importance of strong, respectful, and lasting relationships with Indigenous communities. We acknowledge the historical and ongoing contributions of Indigenous Peoples to the lands where we operate and are committed to meaningful engagement that fosters mutual trust, shared economic opportunities, and cultural respect.
Since 2006, TA Structures has been a local industry leader in the modular building market, serving the oil and gas and mining sectors with durable, comfortable, and luxurious accommodation.
Through our Kyllo Homes division, we’re also proud to build quality, custom park model homes and modular housing solutions.
Across every project, our approach remains steadfast and guided by reconciliation, collaboration, and sustainable development.

OUR COMMITMENT IN ACTION
Respect for Indigenous Rights & Lands
- Acknowledging traditional territories where we live, work and play.
- Ensuring our business activities align with the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) Calls to Action.
- Incorporating Indigenous knowledge and perspectives into project planning and decision-making.
Meaningful Engagement & Consultation
- Establishing open, transparent, and ongoing dialogue with Indigenous leadership and community members.
- Engaging early in project planning and development to co-create solutions.
Economic Partnerships & Employment
- Shihiya School modular classroom, serving students from preschool through grade 6 in Splatsin.
- Partnering with Indigenous businesses and entrepreneurs to create economic opportunities.
- Supporting Indigenous-led projects and initiatives that align with community priorities.
Splatsin Community and Employer Partnership
Greg has spoken publicly in support of Indigenous employment and inclusion in major provincial projects. Working alongside Indigenous leaders such as Jon Coleman of the Cowichan Tribes, Greg advocated for fair access to economic opportunities and expressed concern over policies, such as Community Benefits Agreements, that may unintentionally exclude Indigenous-owned businesses.
Greg was honoured to support the 2015 Community and Employer Partnership project that brought heavy equipment training directly to the Splatsin community. Over 50 Indigenous participants received hands-on and classroom training for careers in road building and heavy construction through this $1.4 million initiative led by the Southern Interior Construction Association by the Splatsin in Enderby.

BUILDING RESPECTFUL PARTNERSHIPS
Greg Kyllo – Former Shuswap MLA (2013–2024) – is committed to long-term, respectful partnerships with Indigenous communities across British Columbia. His approach is grounded in listening, transparency, cultural respect, and shared community values.
During his time serving as the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Shuswap, Greg had the honour of working closely with Splatsin. This working collaboration was founded on mutual respect, open dialogue, and a shared commitment to community well-being.
The principles of integrity, respect, and long-term relationship-building are foundational to TA Structures’ approach to every opportunity, especially as we build and strengthen partnerships with Indigenous communities across the regions where we work.
Regional Relationships
TA Structures recognizes that meaningful Indigenous relations extend beyond any one project or community. While our history includes work alongside Splatsin, we also understand that projects in and around Sicamous can intersect with the interests, priorities, and territories of neighbouring Indigenous communities across the broader Shuswap and Southern Interior.
No two communities are the same, and no two projects should follow a one-size-fits-all approach. TA Structures is committed to engaging early, communicating clearly, and adapting our approach based on the needs of each project and the direction of each community.
We know that every Nation and community is distinct. Each has its own leadership, development priorities, cultural protocols, and vision for the future. We approach every opportunity with respect, listen carefully, and build relationships in ways that honour communities’ needs.
