Modular buildings for worksite accommodation have come a long way since the days of flimsy, barebones tin can structures.

Companies looking for portable buildings such as oilfield trailers, wellsite trailers, forestry or mining accommodation now have the option to choose well-built, mobile, affordable modular building structures from a company with a long history of buliding luxury accommodations.

Twin Anchors / TA Structures Employees Raise $1000 for Local Food Bank

Twin Anchor Marine and TA Structures raised  $1000.00 dollars for the local food bank at our Annual Christmas Party.  Even though this years party was only 65 people where as last year we had 180 people at the party.   The employees raised $460.00 by donating funds from their staff Comittee, donations of money at party and also Mike Wolf shaved his beard off at the party  to raise money.  Always a great sport and very entertaining!  If you recall at our last event his wife auctioned him off!

Many food items were also brought in to be dropped of at the Sicamous Resource Centre.    Twin Anchors Mfg met each donation and thought we should just make it an even $1000.00.  The event was very relaxing and everyone had a great time in at The Anchor Pub which was decorated beautifully for Christmas and the food was absolutely amazing!

Alaskan bound: TA Structures manufactures guard-shacks for Nana Management Services

TA Structures has created six units that will be used as guard shacks for Nana Management Services in the North Slope of Alaska.

A division of Twin Anchors Houseboat Manufacturers, TA Structures has helped keep the company afloat by broadening its manufacturing opportunities. Prior to the economic challenges of 2009, Twin Anchors employed 120 employees. Today, only 35-or-so employees remain employed.

“When times are slow every job counts,” said Buddy Rich sales manager for TA Structures, “it means more locals will have steady work available.”
Experienced in building modular buildings for industrial worksites and accommodations, TA Structures has taken a new northern approach. “What we’ve created are units that will be used for security on the ice roads in Alaska and monitor polar bears in the area,” said Rich.

“The units are 20 feet long and 10 feet wide. They have a work area, a dry kitchen including a microwave, small fridge and counter space, a bathroom with an incinerator toilet, lockers and a fold-down bed,” said Rich. “There is no water on board, the units must be extremely insulated because they will be used in some of the coldest weather on the planet,” said Rich.

Joe Liska, representative from Nana Management Services has said the units will travel around 2,500 miles to their final destination in Alaska.

“There isn’t anything like this on the North Slope,” said Liska of the units that will travel the significant distance. “In the past, we used small 10 by 10 buildings that costed around $600 a day to operate,” said Liska. “I started designing the guard-shack as a security guy, and still have the sketch I created in my office.”

“That’s why it’s so exciting for me to walk through the manufacturing plant and see the product from start to finish.” “Now we are using a simplified design that provides a fully-functioning module with lower-operating costs.”

Rich says he and Liska were introduced by another TA Structures’ client.

“I think Nana Management Services decided to work with us because we were willing to listen to what they wanted and needed, and then design a unit to work for them,” said Rich.

According to Liska, positive comments from TA Structures’ previous clients and the favorable Canadian dollar were contributing factors in the Alaskan company’s decision to work with family-operated TA Structures.

“TA Structures is a well-organized company and offers a complete service,” said Liska “they design, construct and ship the product. “I said if they can build these luxurious houseboats they can build the units we require,” said Liska “this isn’t the first time they’ve completed a project, they’ve been doing this for years.”

“We pride ourselves on being a manufacturer that listens to its customers,” said Rich “at TA Structures we want to ensure our clients get what they want, not what we want to sell them.”
